Hi there! I am Jessica. A lover of life with all of its complexities and beauty. I am a wannabe minimalist who enjoy music, dancing, good food, travels, books, fashion and a great laugh. I created Choublack as an exciting medium to narrate, share, and express my ideas, plans and daydreams. It is a hub of exhilarating thoughts and source of motivation to live an inspired life.
“Fleur-Choublak”? why the name and what does it mean?
The name is an homage to my home country, Haiti. Choublak means hibiscus in Kreyol, one of the languages spoken in the country and Fleur means flower in French, the other language spoken in a more official capacity, in Haiti. Hibiscus is the unofficial national flower of the country. The flower is a symbol of beauty, life, courage, and growth. Therefore, this blog is an attempt of not only an expression of all of the latter, but also an expression of profound gratitude to be alive.
